W.Bro. Dr. Madhav Manoj was born on Sept 12 1973, as the eldest to Adv K. Karunakaran, erstwhile Mayor Trivandrum City and Dr. Vijaya Nair, Former Additional Director of Kerala Health Services. He had his primary schooling in Holy Angels’ Convent and completed his secondary schooling from Govt. Model High School; he finished his Pre-degree from Mar Ivanios College in1990.
He joined the renowned Government Dental College, Trivandrum for his Bachelors in Dentistry. He secured third rank in Post-graduate entrance exam to gain admission in his alma mater to specialise in Orthodontics. He later, went on to secure M. Orth RCS and FDSRCS from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons’, Edinburgh in 2012 and 2018 respectively. |

Initiated on 19th March 2011 and raised to the sublime degree on 19th May 2012, he served Lodge Trivandrum No: 168 in several offices including Steward and Treasurer. He has received a dozen Certificates of Merit in various Ritual Working Competitions consistently throughout his Masonic career till date. He was the recipient of Best Deacon Award of the RGLSI in 2017. He is also a member of Mark Lodge and Royal Arch Chapter.
He partners and manages the dental clinic ‘Smile avenue, the dental care people’ since 2007 and is also a Consultant Orthodontist to Rekha’s Dental Clinic, Sharjah and Al Ansab Dental Clinic, Muscat. He continued his interest for academics and is presently Professor and Post Graduate Guide in the Department of Orthodontics in PMS College of Dental Sciences and Research, Thiruvananthapuram. A keynote speaker in State and National Conferences, he has several scientific publications in various national and international peer reviewed journals to his credit. He is also an examiner to various universities.
A passionate sports person, he was the South zone age group swimming champion, Junior National and All India Inter School National record holder in swimming and multiple podium finisher in All India Inter University Swimming Championships. He had also successfully captained the Cricket team of Govt: Dental College Trivandrum to win the All Kerala Inter-dental Cricket Tournament
Lately he turned himself into a tri-athelete and finished the grueling Ironman Malaysia in 2017, which consists of 3.8km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.3 km running in 15.5 hrs. An avid reader, he also indulges in watching movies and series.
Married to Dr. Manju Manoj, who is also his partner in Smile avenue. First born, Gaythri is preparing for her entrance exams in pursuit for a career in designing and Gautham is studying in 8th standard in St. Thomas Central School.
